Concert: Musical Performances with 'Spectaculaire Second Empire, 1852-1870' at Musee D'Orsay, Paris

Musee D'Orsay presents musical performances in conjunction with the exhibition "Spectaculaire Second Empire, 1852-1870," which will run through December 13, 2016 in Paris.During evenings, Marie-Nicole Lemieux presents a musical rendition of Charles Baudelaire’s 'Fleurs du mal,' the scandalous poetry collection first published in 1857. Karine Deshayes and Delphine Haidan take audiences to the Parisian salons of the Second Empire, a time when cultural life flourished, but was abruptly cut short by the war of 1870. During lunch hours, visit the salons of the Comte de Nieuwerkerke, director of the Imperial Museums and subsequently the Emperor’s Superintendant of Fine Arts.The performances will take place at Musee D'Orsay (Auditorium niveau -2), 1 Rue de la Légion d'Honneur, 75007 Paris, France.For details, visit: http://www.musee-orsay.fr/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
