Veteran artist and filmmaker Chantal Akerman’s “Maniac Shadows,” one of her final video installations, will be on display at The Contemporary Art Centre of La Ferme du Buisson, from November 19, 2016 through February 18, 2017.Chantal Akerman was one of the greatest artists and filmmakers of the last fifty years; her indisputable influence on the cinema’s most famous directors is a testament to her talent, whilst her legacy in visual arts, albeit less known, is equally fundamental and awe-inspiring. Creator of unforgettable films, Akerman blazed a trail – between reality and fiction, the narrative and the experimental, history and memory – that artists of all kinds are exploring more and more.
