The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, presents 'Maarga Naatya' by Kalamandalam Piyal & Troupe. It will be performed on October 23, 2016 in Mumbai.The Sanskrit word 'maarga' refers to the wisdom passed down through Paramparaa and Sampradaaya. This wisdom is ‘Anaadi’, which came even before the unfolding of our Universe. Kalamandalam Piyal has been presenting a series of shows based on the ancient forms of music, dance and drama as found in Natya Shastra. Based on this oldest surviving text he has brought his devoted audience closer to the ancient Indian philosophy that thrives on music. The musical instruments to be used in this show are reconstructed ancient instruments such as mridanga, dardur, kacchapiveena and alinga.The performance will be staged at NCPA, NCPA Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400021, India.
