Palais Garnier presents the opera 'Eliogabalo' which will run through October 15, 2016 in Paris.Italian composer Francesco Cavalli's last-known opera is based on the life of Elagabalus, also known as Heliogabalus, the perverse young Roman emperor who neglected affairs of state in favour of sensual pleasures.'Eliogabalo' has been described as 'languorous, effeminate, lecherous, lascivious. Originally composed in 1667, the opera now comes to life a whole five centuries later at the Palais Garnier in Paris. The opera's conductor and director present their first production for the Paris Opera.
