This month France plays host to a wide array of summer performing arts festivals including the Les Nuits de Fourvière in Lyon, of Paris’s annual Festival Quartier d’Été, and the Festival Toulouse d’Été.The line-ups for these festivals and more make July a fantastic month to be in France. Bastille Day celebrations will occur across the country on July 14 but we predict Lyon will be the place to be with a firework display launched from the hill of Fourvière as part of the Les Nuits de Fourvière’s “Brazilian night” Bastille Day party.Aside from festival fever there will also be a new production of “La Fille mal gardée” opening at the Opera National de Paris conducted by Philip Ellis. The Franco-Catalan circus company Baro d’Evel Cirk will be opening their new show “Bestias” in Paris which is sure to please all animal lovers as they incorporate two horses and five birds in a visual delight of performance art and acrobatics.Click the slideshow to find out which five shows BLOUIN ARTINFO recommend to see in France in July 2015.
