Park Avenue Armory will host “Circle Map” — program of contemporary classical works by famous Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho on October 13-14, 2016, at Wade Thompson Drill Hall in New York.Conceived by Pierre Audi, the artistic director of Park Avenue Armory, the orchestra will be performed by New York Philharmonic under Esa-Pekka Salonen. A program of four ambitious works, “Circle Map” will bring forward an immersive presentation utilizing the enormous Wade Thompson Drill Hall. The presentation will take place at the center of the hall, while the audiences will sit in a half-round seating arrangement. Jean-Baptiste Barrière, a long-time collaborator to Saariaho, will translate the composer’s soundscape into projections that includes the illustrations of literary and visual artworks that are inspirations behind specific compositions.Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the program
