"Baap Ka Baap" returns to the stage on August 21 at the Rangsharda Auditorium in Mumbai. The play has been written and directed by film and television actor Naveen Bawa, who also stars in it alongside Padmini Kolhapure, Chitrashi Rawat, and veteran actor Asrani. The plot revolves around Jawan (Asrani), a widower, and his son Bacha (Naveen Bawa). In raising Bacha, Jawan sacrifices his own need for companionship. His only desire is to see his son get married and settle down. However, fate has something else in store for both father and son as they find love in unusual places. Jawan rediscovers his youth in a young NRI girl, Namkeen (Chitrashi Rawat), and Bacha finds love when he meets Mithai (Padmini Kolhapure), a widow. The play is a wonderful comedy, intertwined with various moral and social issues that are often considered taboo in Indian culture, which it tackles with a pinch of humor. The play will be staged at the Rangsharda Auditorium (Hotel Rangsharda) in Bandra West tomorrow at 7.45pm.
