Rod Stewart along with Special Guest Cyndi Lauper will be in concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden on August 7. This is definitely one show you wouldn’t want to miss. Rod Stewart was knighted in the 2016 for his commendable services to music and charity.Stewart was first noticed during the 1960’s for his singing voice which was distinctively raspy. From the late 1970s through the 1990s, Stewart's music adapted to a new wave of music that was characterized as soft rock with a middle-of-the-road quality. In the early 2000s, Stewart released a string of albums which were his interpretation of the Great American Songbook. A legend in his own right, Stewart in 2004 staged the world’s largest free rock concert in Rio de Janeiro which was attended by 3.5 million people. A Grammy and Brit Award recipient, Rod Stewart was voted at number 33 in list of the Top 100 Greatest Singers of all time by Q Magazine.Cyndi Lauper’s music career has spanned over four decades. “She's So Unusual,” her first solo album released in 1983; went on to become the first ever debut female album to chart four top-five hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Her songs became a rage among the new generation, remember "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time", "She Bop", and "All Through the Night." This album earned the singer the Best New Artist award at the 1985 Grammy Awards. Lauper continued her successful streak with the soundtrack for the movie “The Goonies;” then came “True Colors,” her second record which released in 1986. This album had the chart topping singles "True Colors" and "Change of Heart."
