London’s Everyman Cinema will be holding a special preview of drama film “The Children Act” exclusively for its members on August 19, 2018.Directed by Richard Eyre and produced by Duncan Kenworthy, “The Children Act” is based on a 2014 novel of the same name. The story and screenplay is written by Ian McEwan. The film casts Emma Thompson, Stanley Tucci, and Fionn Whitehead in leading roles. “The Children Act” delves into the themes of love, intimacy and moral responsibility against the backdrop of controversial politics. In the midst of a marital crisis, a high court judge is faced with a predicament she finds hard to overcome. It is for her to decide if she should order a life saving blood transfusion for a teen suffering from cancer despite his family's clear refusal to receive any sort of medical treatment for religious reasons.The film had its world premiere at the 42nd Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2017, and is scheduled for release in the United Kingdom on August 24, 2018, by Entertainment One."The Children Act," has received positive reviews and critics have praised Emma Thompson’s performance as Fiona Maye, The Honorable Mrs. Justice Maye DBE.
