The Deutsch Oper Berlin will witness the opera 'The Nutcracker' on December 28, 2016. The performances will be on various dates till January 2, 2017.When the curtain for 'The Nutcracker' opens and the audience meets the Stahlbaum family - the Christmas festival is already in full swing. The guests wear fine gowns of the Belle Epoch and move elegantly through a spacious art nouveau salon. Nacho Duato briefly moved the plot into the year 1913. The rather unusual time journey for this classic ballet is not only stylistic, but above all also for danceric reasons. Thus the elegant fashion of the early 20th century gives the ensemble more freedom of movement than the stiff costumes of the previous century.
