Musee D'Orsay presents “After the Crash, 1930s America in Cinema,” which will run through December 17, 2016 in Paris. The films presented in this cycle represent one of the most liberated and ground breaking moments in the history of American cinema. In the 1930s, the great American filmmakers and even European filmmakers working in Hollywood were drawn to the country's social evolution after the Great Depression of 1929. These films, a few of which glorified Italian Neo-Realism, were interested in cities and the countryside, in workers as much as farm laborers, and all those excluded from the American dream. The films will be screened at Musee D'Orsay, 1 Rue de la Légion d'Honneur, 75007 Paris, France.
