Galerie Jocelyn Wolff, Paris has on exhibition “P.O.V,” a film installation by Clemens von Wedemeyer that will be on view through December 31, 2016.At a time where the witnesses of World War II are disappearing and its memories fade from the collective consciousness, the analytical, ethnographical and sensitive work of Clemens von Wedemeyer offers new perspectives. In the film installation, Wedemeyer explored the complex connections between a unique place and three different temporalities (World War II, the 1970s, and the 1990s). The artist uses films by Captain Freiherr Harald von Vietinghoff-Riesch, an amateur cameraman and German officer in the Wehrmacht, who filmed in Europe during the Second World War between 1938 and 1942 behind the frontline. The artist confronts collective memory with individual memory by making use of such points-of-view records and modern technology. The exhibition is on view at Galerie Jocelyn Wolff, 78, rue Julien-Lacroix, F-75020 Paris.
