'Breaking The Code', a play centered on English computer scientist and mathematician Alan Turing, is on view at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, and will run through November 19, 2016.The plot revolves around the brilliant Alan Turing and the creation of a machine that would crack the German Enigma code and win Britain the war. The play delves deeper into Turing’s life when he arrives in Manchester to develop the modern computer, an attempt that he had to give up midway due to the revelation of his sexuality and subsequent prosecution for indecency.Hugh Whitemore’s play combines the account of Turing who turned the tide of a nation in its darkest hour just to fall prey to neglect and betrayal at the end.Robert Hastie, (Artistic Director, Sheffield Theatres) directs BAFTA winning Daniel Rigby (ERIC AND ERNIE) in the first major revival of this play for 30 years.The play is being staged at the Royal Exchange Theatre, St. Ann’s Square, Manchester, M2 7DH.
