Nuit du Vent at Fondation Cartier, Paris

Paris is geared up for 'Nuit du Vent' (Night of Wind), with Chris Watson (musician, audio-naturalist), Martin Hertau (captain of the scientific sailboat TARA), François Forget (planetologist), Jean-Loïc Le Quellec (anthropologist, préhistorian, mythologist) in attendance. The event will take place at Fondation Cartieron, November 8, 2016.Through the various contributions, as well as screenings and readings, Cédric Villani, a mathematician with an infinite curiosity, explores one of the first sound phenomena appeared on earth and brings to it his own scientific and poetic perspective.Chris Watson is an acclaimed figure in the field of recording today. In 'Nuit du Vent', the audience will embark on a journey, listening to the winds of the earth, from the North Polar Zone to Antarctica, through the plains of Tanzania, the mystical Scottish Highlands and the Thai coasts. With a live connection, Cédric Villani will discuss with Martin Hertau, captain of Tara schooner, about sailing with winds. The event also features a screening of excerpts from films by Buster Keaton, Raymond Depardon and Jean Epstein.The show will be performed at Fondation Cartier, 261, boulevard Raspail 75014 Paris 14 .
