Tomatito at Wilshire Ebell Theatre, Los Angeles

Wilshire Ebell Theatre, Los Angeles, will witness  a performance by Tomatito with his sextet on October 21, 2016. The show, a part of  the Los Angeles international Flamenco Festival, will be the first show in Los Angeles by one of today’s most sought-after Flamenco guitarist, Jose Fernandez Torres, better known as Tomatito. Tomatito has been awarded the prestigious Grammy for five times and collaborated with many artists presenting his art all around the world. The Almeria-born musician is known for his exquisite skills of traditional rhythms, his classic work with singer Camaron del la Isla, and his pioneering effort in establishing Nuevo flamenco by augmenting with traditional flamenco with music influenced by classical, jazz, blues, rock, pop, bossa-nova, tango, and fado. His work is admired for an embodiment of Flamenco’s deep traditions and as the leader in the contemporary development of the art form. Tomatito's sextet includes Jose del Tomate on guitar, Pirana on percussion, Kiki Cortinas and Morenito de Illora as vocalists, and Jose Maya who is one of the most enigmatic flamenco dancer of today.The performance will take place at Wilshire Ebell Theatre, 4401 West 8th Street, Los Angeles, CA  90005, United States.
