“Juárez: A Documentary Mythology” by New York City-based experimental theater company, Theater Mitu, will run from October 27 through November 13, 2016, at the Los Angeles Theatre Centre (LATC).The play explores the ever complicated US/Mexico border through its history, contradictions, and mythology and provides a unique blend of theatrical multi-media event. Headed by Juárez born-and-raised artistic director Rubén Polendo, the company incorporates verbatim transcripts that have been collected during a two-year series of interviews and investigations that portray a devastating picture of both Cd. Juárez, which emerged in 2008 as the “Murder Capital of the World,” and, directly across the border, El Paso, TX, named the “Safest Large City in America.” “Juárez: A Documentary Mythology” has been conceived and directed by Rubén Polendo and created by Theatre Mitu.
