The Royal Opera House, London presents "Norma", a timeless opera that is considered a leading example of the bel canto genre, which will run through October 11, 2016.Conducted by Antonio Pappano with a stellar star cast led by Sonya Yoncheva, Joseph Calleja and Sonia Ganassi, watch Bellini's masterpiece come to life in London. The story is set against a backdrop of a bloody civil war. Priestess Norma loves the leader of the force that oppresses her own people. She has even borne children by him. However Pollione is in love with Norma’s fellow priestess Adalgisa. Norma's people urge her to lead the uprising against Pollione.
