After LCD Soundsystem pulled out of the roster of musicians scheduled to perform at Clockenflap, Hong Kong’s biggest music and arts festival, the Central Harbourfront event has certainly made up for it. New lineup additions have been announced to the November event: legendary electronic British duo The Chemical Brothers and South African rap-ravers Die Antwoord, as well as American indie rockers Yo La Tengo, and UK hip-hop band Blood Orange. These leading bands will join other international acts that were previously announced, such as UK indie rockers Foals, the Icelandic group Sigur Ros, and Taiwanese singer-songwriter Cheer Chen.No introductions are needed to the global music band The Chemical Brothers, which has had six number one albums, not to mention top 20 singles over the past two decades, establishing itself as a leading force in England’s electronica scene. Festival-goers can expect an impressive visual live set from the duo, with custom-made robots, psychedelic images, and an immersive light show. Meanwhile, the South African eccentric group Die Antwoord will bring their “razor-sharp” and shocking lyrics to the stage through a combination of rap and hard-core trance, complete with a breathtaking set.In addition, two regional bands will join the lineup — Hyukoh from South Korea, making their Clockenflap debut and their first major performance in Hong Kong; and the Hong Kong indie band Huh!?, which is “set to make a triumphant return to the stage almost 20 years on,” according to a press release.  Clockenflap will take place from November 25-27 at Central Harbourfront, Hong Kong.
