Shen Yun, the New York-based performing arts company, will take centerstage at David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, from January 11 through 15, 2017. This decade-old nonprofit organization strives to revive 5,000 years of Chinese culture and give it a global platform.With a troupe of 200 dancers performing classical Chinese, ethnic and folk, and story-based dances, Shen Yun’s performances are a visual treat. The performances are always accompanied by grand animated backgrounds and melodious east-west orchestra that successfully capture the ethos of ancient China.Shen Yun’s performances are a combination of dance, music, imagery, and costumes that leave a lasting impression on the viewer.
