If you see Darth Vader surface as little pasta bits in your chicken soup this May 4th, it may or may not be because the Force has finally consumed you in total, you hardcore Star Wars devotee. You might be slurping up some hot Star Wars soup.Campbell's—the iconic American brand with its soup cans famously immortalized by Andy Warhol in his silkscreen paintings during the sixties—has returned to snare a bit more relevance in popular culture. With the 2016 release of its new line of special limited edition cans with Star Wars labels on them—perfectly timed with Star Wars Day, of course—the updated labels follow a run of cans with Star Wars labels featuring the legendary R2D2, Chewbacca and Darth Vader that were released last year.Obviously with the seventh instalment “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” recently making a lightsaber-dented stir in the fan galaxy in the past year, this year's labels have been swopped with the new film characters including Rey, Finn, BB-8 and Kylo Ren.View Campbell's Star Wars soup cans of past and present here.Hungry fans will have to wait for a little while longer, though. Mid-May is when the limited edition cans are slated to mark the shelves of grocers across the United States with their sheer epic-ness. For Star Wars fans outside of the United States, it remains doubtful as to whether these cans will ever make their way to the rest of the world; Campbell's PR agency was steadfastly mum on this. Though we are sure the ever-resourceful fans of the massive franchise will find a way to get their hands—when not busy wielding a couple of lightsabers—on these cans. The flavor of Star Wars this year? While the Vader-ful SpaghettiOs pasta in tomato and cheese sauce isn’t returning for 2016, the pasta with chicken in chicken broth is. Fittingly, we've been told this incredibly unadulterated Campbell’s pasta soup "does not contain added MSG, artificial flavors or artificial colors." Because this s--- (uh, we mean, soup) is real, folks. It's real. So, Star Wars kids, eat up that soup and prepare for the next and eighth Star Wars film to come your way at a cinema near near you in December 2017 next year.
