Patti SmithAfter a series of shows around the UK performing her 1975 classic album “Horses,” and of course her Glastonbury performance, New York’s Smith returns to her London stomping ground.Smith remains remarkably grounded and likeable, with a strong backing band. She plays the Roundhouse on October 30 and 31. Bob DylanCatch him while can before the times are a’changin’ any more.Bob Dylan’s “Never Ending Tour” confuses the music industry because, if taken for its near three-decades run, it is among the highest-grossing of all time, but that’s only by rolling all the dates together. What you see is what you get: the words “legend” and “icon” do get bandied about. He is an unpredictable force likely to draw at random from a huge catalogue, or reinterpret songs, or move so far out of tune as to provoke gasps from the audience. He’s at the Royal Albert Hall from October 21 through October 25. PS Mark your diary: other dates coming up include Diana Krall (September 30 and October 1) David Gilmour (from October 2) and Heaven 17 (October 2).
