Romantic opera in three acts (1850) ‘Lohengrin’ would be performed through February 18, 2017 at Opéra Bastille, Paris.Lohengrin is first an immense aesthetic and political manifesto that questions the place of genius in society and lays the foundation of the musical drama. The work, of which Liszt directed the creation in Weimar in 1850, marks a turning point in Richard Wagner's life. He profoundly touched Louis II of Bavaria, who became his patron and friend, supporting him in all his future endeavors. Directed by Claus Guth, who illuminates the fragility of the knight to which Wagner identified himself, the production brings together Jonas Kaufmann, Martina Serafin and René Pape under the direction of Philippe Jordan.Opera Lohengrin would February 18, 2017 at Opéra Bastille, Place de la Bastille, 75012 Paris. For details, visit: www.operadeparis.frClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the presentation.
