An operetta entitled “The Merry Widow” presented by Franz Lehár in German with English subtitles will be staged at Volksoper Vienna on January 21 and January 27, 2017.“The Merry Widow” was premiered towards the end of 1905 and since then until the present day has never become outmoded. The play depicts the tale of Hanna Glawari, a well-heeled widow who is to get hitched in order to procure her millions of the Pontevedrin homeland. She comes across Danilo all over again, who was her downright love mate former to her wedding.
