‘Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise’ at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

A film on the life of renowned poet, singer, dancer, and civil-rights activist, Maya Angelou will be screened at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston on January 15 and 16, 2017.‘Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise’ explores her impact on American life and culture. Angelou’s first book, 'I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings', catapulted her onto the literary stage and became an international best seller. She appeared in numerous documentaries, talk shows, and feature films; was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
