The classic fairy tale of ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ returns to the Royal Opera House, London, and will run through March 14, 2017.Celebrating 70 years of The Royal Ballet’s landmark production of Petipa’s classic ballet accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s music, the performance takes the audience on a journey into the world of fairies, enchantments, and magical spells. The Sleeping Beauty is the ballet with which the Company reopened the Royal Opera House in 1946 post-World War II. Marius Petipa’s 19th-century choreography is combined with sections created for The Royal Ballet by Frederick Ashton, Anthony Dowell, and Christopher Wheeldon.
