The screening of ‘The Levelling’ and a screen talk with the director Hope Dickson Leach will take place at the Barbican Centre, London, on January 19, 2017.This event kick-starts the celebration of the contribution and impact of women in the film industry, with the debut film written and directed by Hope Dickson Leach. The story focuses on a trainee veterinarian, Clover (Ellie Kendrick), who upon discovering about her brother's passing is forced to return to her family farm in Somerset. Discovering that the farm is in ruins due to the recent floods and facing her estranged father (David Troughton) after years, Clover has to come to terms with what she has been running away from - her family, her land, and most of all herself.The screening will take place at Cinema 2, Barbican Centre, Silk St, London EC2Y 8DS, UK.
