Sung in Czech with English subtitles, this opera is adorned with powerful original music inspired by Slavic folk songs. Directed by acclaimed Australian director Patrick Nolan, this all-new production unfolds the sheltered life of Katya, who desires to be free from her mundane arranged marriage and find true love, but remains shackled under the domination of her unruly mother-in-law.
