Alexei Ratmansky's ‘The Little Humpbacked Horse’ at Kennedy Center, Washington DC

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC will be staging the ballet “The Little Humpbacked Horse” by Mariinsky Ballet from January 31, 2017 through February 5, 2017.Choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky, this performance will be Mariinsky Ballet’s 15th consecutive season participation at Kennedy Center. Set on a Modernist score by Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin, the ballet takes the audience into a Russian fairy tale world about a young boy's fantastical adventures with a magical horse. Exuding an Imperial Classicism, the choreography offers a production that celebrates in virtuoso performances, corps de ballet majesty, and vibrant folk dances beside pop culture- inspired designs and smart humor.The performance will take place at John F.
