‘After October,’ the first Central London production in eighty years of Rodney Ackland’s play will run through December 22, 2016, at the Finborough Theatre, London. The plot centers on aspiring playwright Clive Monkhams who dreams of making it big through a West End hit and thereby winning his beloved Francie’s heart. Rhoda, his mother and a faded actress from the bygone days, worries about their mounting bills and her daughters' fortunes while pondering over her glory days. An entire entourage of Bohemian artists and Clive’s family heavily depend on him and his play to become a huge success. ‘After October’ is the acclaimed writer of Absolute Hell and Before the Party’s most autobiographical play, a tribute to the tumultuous life revolving around the stage and all its appeal, a fascinating portrait of an impoverished family on the brink of a glamorous new life. This is the first London production since the play’s premiere in 1936.  The play has been directed by Oscar Toeman (Laburnum Grove and Hey Brother for Vibrant). Tickets are available online. The play is being staged at Finborough Theatre, 118 Finborough Rd, Kensington, London SW10 9ED, UK.
