Musée National de l’histoire de l’immigration, Paris, presents a film by Elie Seonnet and Floryd Mbakata, 'En Quête d’Identité(s)', which will be screened on December 13, 2016.Mélissa, Hicham, Kevin and 15 high school students leave Evry in the Paris region to go to Montreal, Quebec, the fashionable destination for French people who want to leave France. For these young 18-year-old commuters, of different origins, religions and social classes, this trip is an opportunity to see how diversity is seen elsewhere. Is life easier in Montreal when you come from a minority? Using their smartphones, the teens record their adventures and film their reactions to the city. Faced with this other model of society, both close to and far from their own, they question their own identity and paint a fresh, bracing picture of the France of tomorrow! The film will be screened at Musée National de l’histoire de l’immigration, 293 Avenue Daumesnil, 75012 Paris, France.
